Dear beautiful community,

Thank you — from the bottom of my heart — for opening these emails, for sharing your precious time and attention, and for choosing to walk this path alongside me. Whether you joined back in December or just recently, I see you, I appreciate you, and I'm truly grateful you're here.

These messages began because something in them resonated — perhaps a reminder to slow down, a nudge toward presence, or a gentle invitation to ask deeper questions about life, the universe, and what real happiness feels like. My hope is they've brought you a little more calm, clarity, or curiosity in your own journey.

The world we're living in

We're living through intense transitions. AI is reshaping everything. Political systems are straining under their own weight. And so many of us are craving more meaning from our daily lives.

There's a name for what many of us are feeling: future shock — the disorientation that hits when the world changes faster than we can adapt. Alvin Toffler coined it decades ago, but it's never been more visceral than right now. That buzzing, unmoored feeling? It's not a personal failing. It's a natural response to living through more change in a decade than previous generations saw in a lifetime. (I've been reading a series that articulates this beautifully — it’s long but worth the read if you can).

Ultimately, community is what makes life worth living and it’s how we’re going to get through these transitions. I’ve had people inquire about a forum to discuss these ideas in. I’m not thrilled with the options, but I’m leaning towards either privately hosting a forum or doing an invite-only subreddit. Which would you be most likely to login to?

(NOTE: below is a poll, I’d love to have your inputs)

Between these two options, which would you engage with most often?

Cozy Fiction & Slow Art

Modern media often leaves us wired and exhausted — everything's high-stakes, fast-paced, overstimulating. What if stories could do the opposite?

I'm building Whispers of the Heartwood: a living world of characters who love deeply, explore magic, dimension-hop, and face challenges together with wonder instead of violence. Think of it as a warm blanket for your imagination — stories full of heart where characters treat each other with genuine kindness, navigate heartache without cruelty, and live lives full of curiosity, love, and awe.

Early world- and character-building scenes are already shared here in the newsletter (check previous issues), and the plot will begin unfolding soon. This is a collaborative, evolving document — I'll refine scenes over time while keeping the core story intact. Eventually, these will grow into animated scenes, voice work, and original music.

Alongside the fiction, I'm learning Blender (the industry-standard 3D animation tool) to create slow animations, cozy visuals, and art that invites you back into your body rather than pulling you out of it.

Digital Tools for Clarity & Calm

SelfScribe — Ever felt off without knowing why? Done "all the right things" for your health and still wondered what actually helped? SelfScribe lets you track actions, symptoms, and patterns, then graphs them to reveal cause and effect — like holding up a mirror to your own rhythms. All data is stored locally on your device for complete privacy. No cloud. No data leaks. Just pure agency over your own well-being.

It's untangled and ready for alpha testers — expect an invite next week if you're interested in gaining that clarity.

Breathing Mandala — Anxiety is at record highs, and traditional meditation can feel inaccessible (especially with ADHD or a dysregulated nervous system). These interactive visuals guide slower breathing patterns — think of them as training wheels for your nervous system. Zone out, chill, or practice styles like Wim Hof breathing. Built with code so you have full control: adjust tempo, pause, customize. They meet you exactly where you are.

Trauma-Informed Movement & Somatic Practices

Finding the right exercise or yoga can feel overwhelming: too many options, too much pressure to "level up," shame for where you're starting, or worry about injuries. I've lived that — I was once shamed in a "beginner" yoga class for getting dizzy, and I avoided yoga for a decade afterward.

My vision is clear, compassionate guidance that meets you precisely where you are. I'm working toward trauma-informed yoga certification with my favorite teacher, Arielle Schwartz, to offer videos and practices focused on feeling good in your body, building presence, and learning to stay with hard things without force or guilt. Expect honest communication about what each session involves — no surprises, no rush.

Fiber Arts & Intentional Wardrobe

Fast fashion's synthetic fibers and toxic dyes touch our skin every day — yet we can choose differently. I've been teaching myself to crochet and knit so I can craft (and eventually design) clothing from natural materials that a cozy librarian would be proud of.

One current project: a cozy hood for a friend whose pattern turned out surprisingly vague (even AI and fellow crafters gave conflicting answers!). That experience inspired me to create chic, high-quality hand-woven designs with clear, precise instructions — drawing on my technical writing background — so other fiber artists can make beautiful, non-toxic pieces without the frustration.

What's next

Next Tuesday, I'll share more about how you can support this work — subscription tiers, sharing the newsletter, enjoying the art, and other ways to be part of what we're building.

Your invitation this week

Before you close this email, try this: put one hand on your chest, one on your belly, and take three slow breaths. Not to fix anything — just to check in with yourself. Notice what's there without needing to change it.

That's the spirit of everything I'm building. Not fixing. Just noticing. Just softening. Just beginning.

With love and warmth,
